Continental drift theory states that the continents were once connected before.

Evidences of Continental Drift theory:

Fossils Evidences

Fossils of Mesosaurus and Lystosauros which were discovered in different continents, such as South America and Africa and it is very impossible for these reptiles to swim from South America to Africa.

Evidence From Rock

Rocks formation and mountain belts

in Africa line up with that in South America as if it was long mountain ranges. Mountain belt are usually found along plate boundaries, when separated they are somehow connected.
